We know that healthcare flooring in high traffic areas and patient rooms in hospitals, nursing homes and care homes needs to be easy to clean and maintain, stain resistant, offering an element of infection control.

Flooring materials for high foot traffic and entrance areas in schools needs to be water resistant, high quality, quiet and comfortable. We believe that Flotex carpet is the ideal choice of floor covering if you are looking for safety flooring. Flotex flocked flooring products are available in tiles, plank and sheet formats, and they also provide custom flooring too.

Forbo’s textile flocked flooring brand, Flotex, is renowned for its high quality, unique construction, making it one of THE most hygienic textile floorings. It is suitable for a wide range of environments, offering multiple advantages including the look and feel of wood and stone.

Flotex sheet

Washable and fast drying

Flotex sheet vinyl flooring is 100% waterproof, and washable with a range of cleaning products – even mechanical wet cleaning is supported. Note that Flotex captures fine dust and allergens in the indoor air, so it is important to clean the floor thoroughly. The good news is that the Flotex fibres effortlessly release these allergens and dust during both wet and dry cleaning. And Flotex floorings will dry quickly after wet cleaning.

Hygienic

Due to its unique construction, Flotex is extremely hygienic, containing 70 million upright fibres per m². While floor coverings capture fine dust and allergens from the air, vacuuming Flotex removes twice as many allergens as conventional carpet flooring. This is just one of the reasons Forbo's Flotex flocked surface flooring has been awarded the highly prestigious Allergy UK Seal of Approval™.

Sound reduction

In some environments, it's vital to have low sound levels - with offices and schools being typical examples. Flotex flooring fibres offer up to 22 dB impact sound reduction, delivering levels of comfort and quietness normally only associated with a standard carpet.

Slip-resistant

Flotex floorings are slip-resistant, in both wet and dry conditions. Particularly important if you are cleaning the floor while people are walking on it.

Durable

The toughness and durability of Flotex comes as a result of over 70 million polyamide 6.6. fibres per square metre. All this at the same time as enjoying the comfort and quietness normally associated with a standard carpet, thanks to the impervious cushioned backing and high pile density.

Flotex tiles

Flotex flocked flooring tiles are easy to combine with existing flooring types, other structures or even other formats. Flotex tiles come in three different brands: Flotex Colour, Flotex Stratus & Cirrus and Flotex Integrity2 & Complexity. Tiles are the perfect solution when you want to create a unique flooring concept with different designs and colours.

Strong and comfortable

Straight polyamide 6.6 fibres create a strong and durable high tech textile for areas of high foot and wheeled traffic. The densely placed fibres (over 70 million per m2) provide a warm and comfortable surface. Flotex tiles are extremely dimensional stable due to their double strength glass fibre reinforcement.

Hygienic and washable

Flotex carries Allergy UK's Seal of Approval™ because the polyamide fibres, known as flock, capture fine dust and allergens which are easily released when vacuumed. The impervious backing makes Flotex suitable for mechanical wet cleaning, with the surface drying quickly and always restored to its original function and appearance.

Safe and quiet

Flotex provides a safe environment for all age groups, especially seniors living, as it prevents tripping or slipping hazards both in dry and wet conditions. The cushioned backing delivers excellent sound absorption properties, making Flotex an acoustic flooring solution (class A), with up to 22 dB impact sound reduction.

Flotex planks

Reflecting the continuous trend for modular flooring, the Flotex Planks collection offers 16 unique designs in plank sizes of 100x25 cm – enabling the creation of striking floor plans with contemporary designs to match every requirement.

Application and use

The versatility of Flotex Plank designs are perfect for both classic and contemporary office environments, as well as the likes of call centres, airport lounges, restaurants or hotels.

Sophistication and style

The Planks bring endless opportunities for the mixing and matching of colours within a single design. Laying patterns also create stimulating, lively environments with zigzag motifs or herringbone designs. With minimal repeat in their patterning, Flotex Planks create beautifully interesting floors, even when using just a single colour.

Modular and Quick

We understand that a holistic approach to commercial design is key, which is why we have created a comprehensive portfolio of textile and resilient modular floor coverings that can be easily installed together. We recommend, in particular, the combination of Flotex Planks with the Tessera carpet tiles, or Allura Flex or Allura Ease luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) as they can easily fit together.
