A family business in the heart of Teddington, Teddington Carpet Centre has been a feature of Broad Street for over 50 years.

As you would expect from a family-run business, our faithful and friendly team have unrivalled experience in the flooring trade.

Our existing customers are equally loyal. They appreciate the high level of service and we are now on first-name terms with many of them.

It was in 1962 that Leslie Wilks founded the company, along with two partners, Henry Wooding and Ronald Rayner. Les had been selling carpets, furniture and bedding for 15 years after he finished his service in the RAF in 1947.

Some of Les’ original suppliers relaxed their payment terms to help him while he was building up the business, with several of those manufacturers still represented in-store today.

Les’ son Rob, who now runs the business, started at Teddington Carpet Centre in 1978. He believes the secret to our success stems from our ability to ensure excellent customer service, and to approach a job in the way he would want it done in his own home.
